Griffin Media Donation Invests in Journalism’s Future

Langston University in Langston, Okla., has received the largest corporate donation in the university’s history, the News 9 building from Griffin Media.

With plans to move its studio location to downtown Oklahoma City, the station donated its current building and equipment to the university’s journalism program, an investment in the future of journalism that will revolutionize how the university prepares students for all aspects of the media business.

“There is an entire business behind news production. From computer technology to marketing and sales, our students will have the benefit of learning here,” Langston University President Kent J. Smith Jr. said. “Now we can think of Oklahoma City and our Oklahoma City campus in an entirely different realm that we could not imagine before.”
