“It is literally true that the best and quickest way to succeed is by helping others to succeed.” – Napoleon Hill

To help others succeed, you must first understand how to best collaborate with others to work together on one shared goal. Explore the four elements of the collaborate principle and identify how you can work better with others and gain ultimate success.

As Gandy-Hilton explains, collaboration leads to great interaction, and with greater interaction, you and your partners will reach ultimate success.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 5: FOUR ELEMENTS OF THE COLLABORATION PRINCIPLES

Four Elements of the Collaboration Principle

  • Build Trust. You have to be willing to show vulnerability and gain your team’s trust before advancing your ideas and opinions. No matter the goal you are trying to reach, your team must trust one another for true collaboration.
  • Seek to Understand. Rather than seeking to respond, seek to understand your team and all ideas or perspectives. When you understand your team’s perspectives and opinions, you can work together to ensure you meet all needs and goals.
  • Communicate Courageously. Don’t be afraid to hurt feelings, receive a response or create conflict. You have to communicate your needs and wants to reach the end goal or result. It’s vital to communicate and express what you need or where you want to go. If you don’t communicate these things, the answer will always be no.
  • Gain a Consensus. Practice writing down your goals and benchmarks. What does success look like to you? When you have a clear vision in mind, you can prepare and plan better to reach an end goal or plan that works for everyone.
