THE CASE FOR CONSCIOUS ENGAGEMENT

Every day, you have a choice to react or respond to a variety of issues, problems or questions. As Binnu Palta explains, there is a difference in choosing to respond consciously rather than reacting from a place of fear.
Rather than jumping to your initial reaction, take a moment to pause and engage your critical thinking or reasoning skills to assume responsibility and create a constructive plan for moving forward.
As a manager, be sure you allow your team to respond with a plan instead of reacting out of fear of missing deadlines or lacking resources. In allowing this response, you affirm your team’s emotions, bond on an emotional level with the group and consciously engage with the group.
